Popular Delaware Beach Camping Destinations

Searching the Delaware State Parks website will help you choose from a variety of camping areas including two beach campgrounds. The campgrounds range from primitive tent sites to deluxe sites with full hook ups for your recreational vehicle. Not only are there state and national campgrounds in Delaware, but there are also a few privately owned sites as well.

Delaware Seashore State Park

Probably the most renowned Delaware beach camping spot is Delaware Seashore state park. This campground is a favorite vacation spot for thousands of visitors each year. The campground is open for full service during the months of April through November, with limited service the rest of the year. Full service includes electric, water, sewer, and showers. Limited service is electric and sewer only. Camping is available in cabins or cottages, tent campsites and RV campsites with full hookups. The campground has showers, laundry rooms, and vending machines. Each campsite is equipped with a fire ring and picnic table.

Cape Henlopen State Park

You will enjoy camping at Cape Henlopen state park. There are 150 campsites to choose from with water hook ups only. The unique pine-covered dunes are breath taking. Camping is available March through November. Cape Henlopen is a popular youth group camping destination because there is a dormitory on the bay side of the campground. Each campsite is equipped with water hook ups, a picnic table, and a fire ring. You can make your reservation up to seven months in advance. Reservations can be made for a maximum of 14 consecutive days.

Holly Lake Campsites

Holly Lake is a private campground on Rehobath Beach in Delaware. An abundance and variety of campsites with full hookups nestled in the woods along the coastline makes this a popular camping destination. There is a camp store, game room, swimming pool, nature trails, activities, and petting zoo. In addition to campsites there are 30 full service cabins that are fully air conditioned and heated. Holly Lake is famous for it's abundance of animals to observe from their nature look-out towers.

Delaware beach camping includes the usual beach activities such as swimming, surfing, boating, and fishing. Don't forget hiking and playing in the sand. Shopping is a popular past-time in Delaware, due to the added bonus of shopping the entire state tax-free.
